The Department has a strong interaction with the industry and is constantly involved in solving various consultancy projects for various industries and the Governments of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The department has MOU with Central Power Research Institute (CPRI), and Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) to undertake joint projects.

B tech. in mechanical engineering is the core program of the department. Graduated mechanical engineers apply scientific principles to the analysis, design, and synthesis of various products and processes. The range includes automobiles, aircraft, electronics, surgical instruments, toys, construction products, sports, and recreational equipment, etc. In all cases, mechanical engineers design products with the required functionality according to high-quality standards at the best possible price and in environmentally friendly ways.
B tech. in the field of mechanical engineering has existed since the establishment of the institute in 1959

Work on the subject in the first two semesters is common to all fields of engineering. Basic mechanical engineering courses are introduced from the 3rd semester onwards. In addition, electives are offered from the 5th semester onwards. Electives allow you to choose your area of interest within a wide range of areas. The laboratories are equipped with the most modern equipment for imparting the necessary practical experience. Based on the acquired knowledge, students also carry out project work in the last two semesters.
